Creda Redhouse Angling Club: Our guiding principles
Welcome to the official rules and regulations of the Creda Redhouse Angling Club. As a non-profit organisation run by members for members, these guidelines ensure fair play, responsible angling, and the smooth operation of our club for everyone's enjoyment and the development of the sport.

The foundation of our club
Creda Redhouse Angling Club operates as a non-profit entity, dedicated to fostering the sport of angling among its members. Our governance is overseen by a general purpose committee, elected annually, comprising essential roles such as Chairman, Asst. Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary, and Match Secretary, alongside at least five other officers. In the absence of an executive member, another may be seconded to the appropriate post.
Critical decisions, including any alterations to club rules, are made through a majority vote at our Annual General Meeting (AGM), held the second Monday in October, where all members are urged to attend. An Extra Ordinary General Meeting can be convened if necessary. Nominations for officers or proposed rule changes must be submitted in writing to the Secretary 28 days prior to the AGM. Accounts are diligently audited by two committee-appointed auditors before presentation at the AGM. While the club has Public Liability cover, members are ultimately responsible for their own safety, and the committee is free from legal liability for personal safety of members. Members should also be aware that angler names and fish weights may be published in the media, but not the venue where caught.

Joining and staying connected
An annual subscription will be levied to cover our operating costs, with the amount recommended by the committee at the AGM. Subscriptions are due in January. Memberships expire on 31st December and a new membership must be purchased prior to fishing in the new year.
Monthly meetings for members are held on the second Monday of each month at 8:00 PM at our Headquarters, and all members are welcome to attend to stay informed and engaged with club affairs.
January, February and March are joining meetings only and October is the AGM.
A Xmas party and presentation evening will be held around the end of November or start of December. All members and non-members are welcome, this is a fantastic family evening with live entertainment, well behaved children are more than welcome.

Responsible angling on club waters
When fishing on club waters, all members must possess a valid rod license, identity card (App), and permit (App). Your full name must be provided upon request by a bailiff or any other member who identifies themselves. Your valid membership will be checked on the Bailiff App. The committee maintains the authority to take necessary actions to amend and impose restrictions on club waters as situations dictate.
Our age definitions are: Juvenile (1-11 years), Junior (12-16 years), Adult/Senior (17-64 years), and OAP (65+). Juveniles are not allowed to fish rivers; they may fish still waters if accompanied by an adult member who is responsible for them at all times and shares the same peg. Juniors may fish rivers if accompanied by an adult who is responsible for them at all times. On still waters, juniors may fish an adjacent peg under adult guidance. A maximum of two rods may be fished on one swim only. A Rod and Pole must NOT be used at the same time. Juveniles and Juniors are limited to one rod. Do not encroach within 10 metres (still water) or 25 metres (river) of another angler unless with mutual consent.

On the bankside: Detailed regulations
Conservation is key. Keep nets, when used, must be as stipulated by the Seven Trent Water Authority; no other vessel is to be used to contain fish. Carp over 1 kilo in weight are not to be retained by pleasure anglers. Boilies and other high protein baits are banned from all club waters. No barbed hooks are allowed on ‘still waters’. No lead weights over 2 oz are to be used on any still waters. Fishing is from dawn to dusk on all waters, with no night fishing unless you have purchased a valid night fishing permit, these are only available from the Committee and are not available on the Clubmate App.
Maintain pristine conditions: no tins or glass containers are to be taken to any club waters. All litter must be taken away – litter around your peg will not be tolerated. No coarse fish are to be removed from club waters, with the exception of jack pike 20 inches or under. All members, when fishing, must be in possession of a landing net. Matches will be held on club waters during the year; details are available from the Match Secretary and are fished to NFA rules (certain rules and conditions apply to matches only). For river fishing, keep to the river bank or other recognised paths at all times and do not cut across fields. Anybody targeting ‘Specimen Fish’ must be in possession of an un-hooking mat.

Maintaining club standards and recent changes
Should a member commit any serious act of misconduct, they may be called before the committee to give an explanation of their conduct. The committee is authorised to take whatever action is appropriate in the interests of the club. If expulsion from the club is imposed, there will be no financial redress, and he/she will not be eligible for further membership. All fish MUST be returned ALIVE to the water and ANY fish deaths MUST be reported TO THE COMMITTEE. No fish are to be taken away ALIVE or DEAD without the express permission of the owner; to do so may result in a Civil or Criminal prosecution under Schedule 1 Section 2 of the Theft Act.
New Rules Update:
- No loose floating baits are to be used on any of the club's pools. The use of a single floating hook bait is allowed as long as there is no loose floating bait put on the water around it.
- The maximum hook size allowed on any of the club's pools is no larger than a number 10 barbless.
- The use of a rod and pole at the same time is banned.
- No lead weights over 2oz are to be used on any Creda Redhouse Angling Club still waters.
- The keep net ban is still lifted (this means keep nets can be used in Spring).
