Creda Red House Angling Club Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct exists to ensure that our waters remain safe, enjoyable, and sustainable for all members, visitors, and wildlife. All members are expected to follow these rules at all times when representing or fishing on behalf of the club.

1. Respect for Others

• Treat fellow members, visitors, bailiffs, landowners, and the public with courtesy and respect at all times.
• Abusive, aggressive, threatening, or discriminatory behavior will not be tolerated.
• Follow all reasonable instructions given by club officials or bailiffs.
• Please note that all CRAC officers are volunteers, any unreasonable behavior by members will not be tolerated and their membership cancelled, any refunds or partial refunds will be at the discretion of the committee.

2. Respect for the Fish and Environment

• Fish welfare must always be the top priority.
• Use only permitted tackle and methods as set out in club rules.
• Handle fish carefully, return them promptly, and use appropriate unhooking mats and equipment.
• Do not litter — all rubbish, including line and bait containers, must be taken home.
• Respect wildlife, vegetation, and the natural surroundings.

3. Membership and Identification

• Members must hold a valid club membership and produce proof of membership when requested by a bailiff or committee member.
• Proof of Membership is via the online Bailiff App - A current and true likeness ID photo MUST be provided
• Membership is personal and non-transferable.
• Allowing non-members to fish without permission is strictly prohibited.

4. Behavior on the Bank

• Keep noise to a minimum and be considerate of other anglers.
• Alcohol or substance misuse that affects behavior or safety will not be tolerated.
• Fires are prohibited unless expressly permitted by the committee.
• Dogs must be kept under control at all times.

5. Compliance with Rules and Law

• All members must comply with club rules, fishery rules, and relevant laws and regulations.
• Any illegal activity may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
• Members must hold a valid Environment Agency rod license where required.

6. Safety

• Fish in a safe and responsible manner at all times.
• Report hazards, damage, or incidents to a committee member as soon as possible.
• Children and vulnerable persons must be supervised appropriately.

7. Disciplinary Action

• Breaches of this Code of Conduct may result in warnings, suspension, or termination of membership.
• Serious misconduct may result in immediate removal from club waters without refund.
• The committee’s decision in disciplinary matters is final.

8. Reporting Concerns

• Members are encouraged to report any concerns, unsafe behavior, or rule breaches to a bailiff or committee member.
• All reports will be treated fairly and, where appropriate, confidentially.

Safeguarding Code of Conduct for Adults

 

All adults involved with the Club agree to:

• Put the welfare of children first.
• Treat everyone with dignity and respect.
• Be positive role models.
• Act fairly and without discrimination.
• Use appropriate language at all times.
• Never bully, intimidate or abuse a child.
• Never develop inappropriate relationships with junior/juvenile members.
• Avoid being alone with a child whenever possible.
• Ensure parents know where their children are during Club activities.
• Never exchange personal contact details with junior members without parental knowledge.
• Never communicate privately with children through social media.
• Report any safeguarding concerns immediately.
• Challenge inappropriate behaviour where it is safe to do so.
• Follow all Club policies and procedures.

Failure to comply with this Code may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion from the Club.
